With New Zealand having one of the highest rates of family violence in the OECD, Shine's mission is to make homes violence-free, but we can't do it alone.

We need our communities to help support some of our most vulnerable families and raise awareness about family violence.

Help us support more people affected by family violence to become safe and free.

Fundraising is easy whether you're an individual, school, club or workplace and a great way to bring people together.

There are many ways you can raise awareness around family violence and raise funds to help people who need Shine's support.

To fundraise for Shine, consider how to best use your skills, talents, and networks. Remember also to have fun while you’re fundraising!

Light It Orange for Shine

Join us and fundraise for Shine's yearly appeal, 'Light It Orange'. Get your workplace, friends and family together to wear orange and raise money in June! Learn more here.

Create your own fundraiser

Host an event like a concert, festival, or quiz night, offer a service in return for donations (e.g. babysitting, haircuts, yoga classes), or smash a personal goal or complete a challenge.

Personal challenge

Personal challenges make awesome fundraisers – they show your supporters how committed you are to the cause. You might like to create your own challenge or take part in an existing event. See our upcoming events here.

Host an event

An event is a great way to bring people together to support Shine while enjoying themselves. Host a morning tea, garage sale, movie night or community BBQ.

Business donations & fundraisers

Businesses can support Shine in many ways, from becoming a corporate partner, financial donations, matched funding, payroll giving or donating goods and services to holding fundraisers such as golf days, morning teas, raffles and auctions, and quiz nights.

Online fundraising

It’s quick and easy to set up an online fundraising page personalised with your own target and story. Share it with your supporters so they can donate directly to your page.

School & club fundraising

You can raise funds and vital awareness for the cause through events like mufti days, bake sales, movie nights, sausage sizzles, sports tournaments and raffles.
