We provide a tiered training programme for professionals and community workers in social services, justice, health, education who come into contact with people experiencing or using family violence. Training levels go from Introductory Training and Foundational Skills through to Advanced Training and Specialist Days on particular topics.
We support employers to improve their workplace response to family violence. DVFREE services include First Responder Training, Manager Training, Customer Response Training, policy consultation and free Employer Guidelines. The DVFREE Tick Partnership Programme supports a sustainable best practice workplace response.
We coordinate SAFTINET (Safer Auckland Families Through Intervention Network) in central Auckland, bringing together and supporting the network of government and community organisations that respond to family violence.
We are the training lead for Te Whatu Ora VIP Programme, responsible for training package updates, and training, accrediting and supporting trainers in hospital services across the motu. This training prepares health professionals to recognise and respond to intimate partner violence and child abuse and neglect.
Shine has also had a partnership with Te Toka Tumai Auckland (previously, Auckland District Health Board) since 1996, which includes being part of the Auckland VIP Team to deliver VIP Training and improve relevant hospital systems.
