This foundational training is designed for practitioners working within organisations who receive referrals to support people experiencing family violence. Guided by a dignity-driven practice framework, the session draws on the latest research and integrates case studies, interactive activities, and facilitated discussion to support practical, reflective learning.

 

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand how family violence impacts a person's dignity
  • Explore how to respond to risk and resistance
  • Strengthen relationship building within a coordinated community response

This introductory training prepares you to respond appropriately and safely to people experiencing family violence. This session will expand your awareness into an understanding of the impact family violence has on adults and children and build your knowledge of the complexity of family violence and the effect on a person’s dignity and wellbeing. Learn and practise the Recognise/Respond/Refer model with scenarios. Social entrapment, coercive control and resistance are explored interactively.
