This introductory training prepares you to respond appropriately and safely to people experiencing family violence. This session will expand your awareness into an understanding of the impact family violence has on adults and children and build your knowledge of the complexity of family violence and the effect on a person’s dignity and wellbeing. Learn and practise the Recognise/Respond/Refer model with scenarios. Social entrapment, coercive control and resistance are explored interactively.
Develop and hone your skills to provide comprehensive practical support to people experiencing family violence. Build on your existing understanding and experience to explore the complexity of risk and how to make accurate assessments and understand client-led and client-centered interventions. Using case-based learning, you will learn how to make in-depth risk assessments and develop safe strategies and plans to provide effective and useful support for people experiencing family violence. Expand your understanding of safety, dignity and wellbeing when working with people experiencing family violence.
