Level 3 – Two Day Advanced Training

Increase your professional abilities and skills with our advanced level interactive training. This training is designed for practitioners with experience working alongside people who are experiencing family violence. Building on the concepts of entrapment and response-based practice introduced in Levels 1 and 2, Level 3 focuses on resistance.

This training addresses the most challenging parts of advocacy and will participants skills to support systemic responses such as coordinating multi-agency responses, building community alliances, and utilising information sharing.

Throughout the day, the training will emphasise situating people within their wider contexts – as parents, as youth experiencing family violence, and as members of family, whānau, and community and the responsibilities and expectations that come with that. 

 

Learning Objectives:

  • Further develop an understanding regarding concepts of coercive control, entrapment and resistance which inform a response-based approach.
  • Explore advocacy against intersectionality and oppression and examine the intersection of mental health, substance misuse and family violence.
